Users are unable to get access to their domains log files using FTP.
This only occurs when using MSFTP with IIS6.
IIS6 creates a new folder, normally in the format /W3SVC3768, in the /logs folder for the domain. This new folder does not inherit permissions from the /logs folder, consequently not allowing access via FTP.
This is a new security implementation in IIS6 and was not present in IIS5
It is possible to add the NT user account used for FTP to the /W3SVC***** folder however these permissions are often reset by IIS6 upon creation of new log files.
Alternatively an FTP server which does not rely on NT permissions can be used such as Serv-U.
