Resolution
I have one server and want to use HELM. I want to keep costs down. What else to I need?
Solution
Solution
This is a common question. If you are just starting out or just have one Windows server then you could get up and running no further outlay.
DNS
DNS
For DNS you can use MS DNS which ships with Windows servers (you may need your server administrator to install this).
Web Server
Windows Server comes with IIS (you may need your server administrator to install this). You can use IIS as your web server - Windows 2000 uses IIS 5, whilst Windows 2003 uses IIS 6.
FTP
Again, Windows will come with an FTP server integrated into IIS.
Email
Windows 2000 doesn't come with a mail server as standard - we don't currently support the 2003 mail server - however, you could use a 3rd party email server - see the list of them by clicking here. You will find a broad range of prices and functionality. If you choose MailEnable Standard you could install that for free.
Statistics
Helm supports AWStats which is currently free and available from here.
This will give you the basic setup - as you can see, you could set up a single server licence of HELM and incur no extra costs.
