Symptoms

An Azure CSP task fails with:

 "message": "An unexpected error has occurred."

In the Azure CSP Endpoint application-log.txt file the following error appears:

 System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: The target principal name is incorrect. Cannot generate SSPI context.

Cause

Expired or changed password for AZURECSP\AzureCSPInternalUser user, specified in the Azure CSP IIS Application Pool.

Resolution

In order to specify the correct password for AZURECSP\AzureCSPInternalUser:

  1. Open Internet Information Services(IIS) Manager on Azure CSP Endpoint host;
  2. Go to Application Pools;
  3. Right click to Azure APS application pool -> Advanced Settings;
  4. Find Identity field and open "Application Pool Identity";
  5. Choose "Custom Account" setting and fill correct user/password;
  6. Restart failed tasks.

Note: in case the AZURECSP\AzureCSPInternalUser user password is unknown, reset it for the corresponding AD user.
