Symptoms

QMail and SpamAssassin nodes have been migrated to RHEL6.

After the migration, mail flow does not work with the error shown in /var/log/maillog:

/bin/sh:_/usr/local/qmail/bin/spamc_wrapper_101:_Permission_denied/did_0+0+1/

Dump configuration of SpamAssassin service task was executed before the QMail migration.

Cause

The migration steps suppose that all mail nodes are already migrated before dumping SpamAssassin configuration. The issue appears, when migration steps are followed in parallel, and SpamAssassin is migrated faster than QMail service.

Resolution

Perform the SpamAssassing restoration steps again to resolve the situation.

As a result, the proxy wrapper should have 755 premissions on each QMail node:

[root@lmail01 ~]# stat /usr/local/qmail/bin/spamc_wrapper_101
  File: `/usr/local/qmail/bin/spamc_wrapper_110'
Size: 322 Blocks: 8 IO Block: 4096 regular file
Device: c200b601h/3254826497d Inode: 14026109 Links: 1
Access: (0755/-rwxr-xr-x) Uid: ( 0/ root) Gid: ( 0/ root)

Otherwise, assign them explicitly:

# chmod 755 /usr/local/qmail/bin/spamc_wrapper_101
