How to upgrade mysql from 5.1 to 5.5 on CentOS 6.8 on mysql node of a sandbox

Answer

  1. Upgrade mysql rpm packages and mysql databases on mysql node.

    wget https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/epel-release-latest-6.noarch.rpm && rpm -Uvh epel-release-latest-6.noarch.rpm
    wget http://rpms.famillecollet.com/enterprise/remi-release-6.rpm && rpm -Uvh remi-release-6*.rpm
    sed -i -e '/\[remi\]/,/^\[/s/enabled=0/enabled=1/' /etc/yum.repos.d/remi.repo
    yum -y update mysql*
    mysql_upgrade -uroot -p
    
  2. Restart mysql service in OA UI

    OA > Service Nodes > mysql node > Packages > Applications > MySQL5 > Summary > Restart
    
  3. Sync mysql version on mysql node in OA UI

    OA > Service Nodes > mysql node > Packages > Applications > MySQL5 > General > Sync version
