Symptoms

Starting from February 20th, every Partner API account in KA is marked as either of the following:

a) restricted to create and manage only licenses for Plesk products (Plesk, Plesk extensions, Web Presence Builder, etc.)

b) restricted to create and manage only licenses for Virtuozzo products (Virtuozzo, ReadyKernel, VZ Storage, etc.)

This means that if an API account is marked as restricted to Plesk, then it cannot be used to create and manage Virtuozzo licenses anymore, and vice versa.

In case you are not sure which exactly restriction was applied to your API account, please contact your Sales Representative.

Resolution

Should you need to have an ability to create or manage both Plesk and Virtuozzo licenses in KA, you need to have two separate API accounts -- one for Plesk, one for Virtuozzo. Please contact your Sales Representative in order to request the second Partner API account.

Please note that it is highly recommended to use the right KA hostname with Partner API:

a) If you use Partner API to create or manage Plesk licenses, your KA hostname should be ka.plesk.com

b) If you use Partner API to create or manage Virtuozzo licenses, your KA hostname should be ka.virtuozzo.com

Starting from the next OBAS release a new field named Product Type will be added to the Key Administrator plug-in configuration screen, which will allow the Provider to specify if the plug-in is used to manage Plesk or Virtuozzo licenses.

Existing licenses will also be split based on the Product Type.
