National characters are displayed incorrectly in customers' names or in other places in OA control panel. There are special characters, e.g. or others, instead of proper letters.

If pau service is restarted using init script /etc/init.d/pau restart, it can start with a different environment locale, depending on what is set on the OA management node server. This issue is reported to OA maintenance team as POA-98742: PAU script is dependent on environment locale.

pau service could also start with encorrect encoding after full osscore server restart, which has been fixed in scope of POA-102245, included into OA 6.0 Update 8.

Make sure pau service is started with UTF-8 encoding:

[root@osscore ~]# grep encoding /var/log/pau/console.log
  JAVA_OPTS: -server -Xms1303m -Xmx1303m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -Djboss.modules.system.pkgs=org.jboss.byteman -Djava.awt.headless=true -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 -Dsun.jnu.encoding=UTF-8

After that, all incorrect symbols should be corrected in CP by editing/committing the required data. In case an automated solution is required to be applied on all accounts, contact Odin Technical Support.
