There is an
"Authentication Error" while performing some operations with domain that was registered via the OpenSRS plug-in.
Another error appears during a new domain registration:
Invalid password length: Password should contain at least 10 and at most 20 characters.
On 10th of August 2015 OpenSRS published a security issue.
This security issue caused an "Authentication Error" in OBAS while check expiry date, domain status, etc, because these operations use the `username` and `password` instead of private key to connect to OpenSRS server. And those passwords were reset on OpenSRS server due to security issue.<br> Issue with the password length has the same cause.
To resolve the issue, please upgrade to 4.5.5 as described in How to upgrade OBAS system to the latest available version.
Hotfix for OBAS 4.5.4
If upgrade is not an option for you, there is a hotfix for 4.5.4 version. To apply it, please install a patched version of the OpenSRS plug-in from attachment:
# rpm -Uvh hspc-plugin-dm-opensrs-4.5.4-26.swsoft.x86_64.rpm # hspc-upgrade-manager --finish
# rpm -Uvh hspc-plugin-dm-opensrs-4.5.4-26.swsoft.i386.rpm # hspc-upgrade-manager --finish
Note: Restart of the hspcd service will cause OBAS downtime for about 10-60 seconds.
