Symptoms

Customer wants to migrate backup node to new node and move all backup file

Resolution

Please perform first 3 steps and then contact Odin Technical Support to perform remaining steps.

  1. Create new backup server - container or physical server and register it in POA. Use supported OS (e.g. RHEL 5 or CentOS 5).

  2. Assign all backup-related provisioning attributes to the new server (they should be same as on existing server).

  3. Copy all backups from old server to the new one, to the same location, maintaining the directory structure. Backups location can be obtained from backup RT activation parameter 'Path'. Keep in mind that there can be several backup RTs with different values of the 'Path' attribute, and you will have to copy all backups from all paths.

Further steps contain DB updates and should be performed by Odin Automation Support Engineer.
