Provider ran Office 365 synchronization script and found the following error message in the log:
ERROR Subscription 1017578: error by updating: Error during OpenAPI call: Service user property is incorrect and cannot be used to configure the requested service: 'firstname.lastname@example.org' is not a valid value for setting 'user_login' for application BackupAgent. value of installation setting with id 'user_login' can not be changed.
Follow the steps below to resolve the problem:
- Remove the BackupAgent service from the service user in POA Customer Control Panel.
- Run the Office 365 synchronization script once again, service user will be updated in POA.
- Add the BackupAgent service back to the service user in POA Customer Control Panel.
Attention: be careful with removing the BackupAgent service from the service user in POA CCP, perform this step only if you are sure that customer's backup data will not be lost as the result of this action.
Most likely a user whose login
email@example.com is mentioned in the error message above changed their login directly in MOP; as a result POA tried to apply corresponding changes to the service user in POA. POA detected that service user has several services assigned to it:
- Microsoft Office 365
While POA can apply changes to service user would it be assigned only Office 365 service, it cannot apply the same changes to the service user with the BackupAgent service assigned. So, finally synchronization of the new user login fails because user login cannot be changed in the BackupAgent.
