Symptoms

1. Cannot open events related screens: "canceling statement due to statement timeout"

A Provider cannot open the list of events at Home > Operations > Tasks screen. One of the following errors may be displayed:

ODBC error #57014: ERROR: canceling statement due to statement timeout;
Error while executing the query

or

error returned: Data packet type error. Type: 6 Index: 1

This may affect any screen in the Tasks menu, including Active Tasks and Failed Tasks, as well as a "Event Log" tab of every event.

2. Product precheck fails

Upgrade precheck fails with an error message: "AEvent table size exceeds critical value and could cause significant growth of upgrade time"

Cause

Too many events are stored in the BA database. The size of the corresponding tables is too large, and the database server cannot fetch the required data within the configured timeout period.

Resolution

Automatic Cleanup of Old Events and Tasks was implemented in OA 7.1, please refer to Odin Automation Premium 7.1 Release Notes, section 2.9.3 and KB article Periodic OA Billing Events Cleanup Solution

To resolve the issue with the failing upgrade precheck, contact your Technical Account Manager or a member of Pooled Technical Associate team at pta@odin.com.
