Resolution

Error #1014 may occur in the  following two cases:


  1. Shadow passwords aren’t used in your system. Confixx presumes that shadow passwords are used in the system and checks the /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow files.

The entry regarding ‘root’-user in the /etc/passwd file should be as follows:


root:x:0:0:…


The entry regarding ‘root’-user in the /etc/passwd file should be as follows:


 root:<coded password of root>:…


  1. The entry regarding ‘root’-user in the /etc/shadow file should be as follows:

root:<one symbol>:0:..
