Resolution

First of all, the upgrade process doesn’t fail. This message is caused by an unsuccessful attempt to restart a standalone ProFTPd daemon. The reason is that your ProFTPd start/stop script does not support the "reread" command. The message is only the warning and does not mean that the upgrade process failed. If you see this message just restart your ProFTPd daemon manually.

If you want to avoid this message in future upgrades you should do the following before starting the upgrade process to Confixx Professional 3.x:

  1. open your confixx_main.conf file (typically /root/confixx/confixx_main.conf)
  2. add the following lines there:

$pm_ftpd_reload = '/etc/init.d/proftpd restart';
$pm_ftpd_start = '/etc/init.d/proftpd start';

Please, note that these are sample lines and they are correct only for some operating systems. You should set the values according to your proftpd daemon start/stop script location and the commands supported.
