Resolution

Since the spring of 2007 the starting and ending dates of Daylight Saving Time in the U.S. are changed. The new start time of DST is 2:00 A.M. on the second Sunday in March (March 11 in this year). The new end time of DST is 2:00 A.M. on the first Sunday in November (November 4 in this year). Microsoft published updates for its products named DST2007 updates. The article describes how you can apply these updates.

 

Update for Microsoft Windows Operating Systems

Install the KB931836 update for Microsoft Windows operation systems. Usual this update is distributed by means of Windows Automatic Update system. It was included into the February monthly Windows update. If you have no WSUS server you can download and install this upgrade manually: refer to the MS KB931836 artivle.

Update for Microsoft Exchange 2003 Servers

1. Install the KB931836 update for Microsoft Windows operation systems. Usual this update is distributed by means of Windows Automatic Update system. It was included into the February monthly Windows update. If you have no WSUS server you can download and install this upgrade manually: refer to the MS KB931836 artivle.

2. Install the KB926666 update for Exchange 2003 Service Pack 2 using this instruction:

  • For preventing some issues on the servers with Clustered Exchange move all cluster groups away from the server and stop the Cluster Service service on the server.
  • For preventing some issues on the servers without Clustered Exchange stop the PSA service on the server.
  • For preventing the reboot and server downtime stop the IIS Admin service on the server.
  • Install the KB926666 update. This update was not included into the February monthly Windows update. You can download and install it manually: refer to the MS KB926666 article.
  • After installation completes for servers without Clustered Exchange start the IIS Admin and PSA services; for servers with Clustered Exchange start the IIS Admin and Cluster Service services.

Important! If you are using some earlier version of Exchange (Exchange 2003 Service Pack 1, Exchage 2000 Server or Exchange Server 5.5) you must install another update. Please refer to the MS KB926666 article for information.

Update for BlackBerry Enterprise Servers

1. Install the KB931836 update for Microsoft Windows operation systems. Usual this update is distributed by means of Windows Automatic Update system. It was included into the February monthly Windows update. If you have no WSUS server you can download and install this upgrade manually: refer to the MS KB931836 artivle.

2. Push the DST 2007 patch for BlackBerry devices to all BlackBerry users. You can download all necessary files here. For detailed instructions refer to the Deploying DST 2007 Update document on the official BlackBerry site. You can monitoring the process of BlackBerry users updating using the DST2007Query tool.

3. Run the Set Send As Permission tool for resolving issue described in the BlackBerry KB04707 article. You can download this tool here.

4. Install the KB926666 update for Exchange 2003 Service Pack 2 using this instruction:

  • For preventing some issues on the servers with Clustered Exchange move all cluster groups away from the server and stop the Cluster Service service on the server.

Update for Good Mobile Messaging Servers

1. Perform some preliminary steps:

  • For preventing some issues on the servers with Clustered Exchange move all cluster groups away from the server and stop the Cluster Service service on the server.
  • For preventing some issues on the servers without Clustered Exchange stop the PSA service on the server.
  • For preventing the reboot and server downtime stop the IIS Admin service on the server.

2. Follow the instructions from the Daylight Savings Time Adjustment 2007 article. 

3. For servers without Clustered Exchange start the IIS Admin and PSA services; for servers with Clustered Exchange start the IIS Admin and Cluster Service services.

4. Check the possibility of sending emails from Good Mobile Messaging devices. If some errors occurs, refer to the MS KB912918 and MS KB912918 articles for resolution.
