Windows FTP Service Configuration

The main purpose of the FTP service in Windows shared hosting is to make customers able to upload/download files in their webspaces.

Windows FTP service is implemented using native Microsoft IIS FTP service. Single Windows server works as web and FTP hosting server in POA.

POA creates the default FTP site in IIS during the new server deployment, the name of the FTP site is 'PEM FTP server for Shared Hosting' by default. The website is configured to listen to the port 21 (FTP) and customers may connect to their websites using IIS FTP service.

In the default installation the FTP service log is stored as C:\CustomerData\FTPServer\logs\FTPSVC<ID>\extend0.log, where <ID> is the ID of the IIS FTP site (it may be seen in the IIS Manager). Analyze the log file during troubleshooting problems with FTP service.
