Resolution

POA works with managed servers by means of POA Agent which must be installed and running on every single server managed by POA (except for Virtuozzo Containers server which are managed through VZAgent). If POA Agent is down on managed host POA will not be able to manage services on the host.

Use the instructions below to check status of POA Agent on Linux and Windows servers.

Linux server:

Use the following command being logged on Linux server as root:

# service pem status
pleskd is running

or

# /etc/init.d/pem pem status
pleskd is running

The message 'pleskd is running' means that POA Agent is working. Refer to the article https://kb.odin.com/en/4642 to find out how to restart POA Agent if it is down.

Windows server:

Use one of the commands below:

C:\> sc query pem | findstr STATE
STATE : 4 RUNNING`

or

C:\> net start | findstr PEM
PEM
PEM syslogd

or

C:\> tasklist /SVC | findstr /I pleskd.exe
Pleskd.exe 2664 PEM

Windows service PEM is POA Agent and it is represented by the process pleskd.exe. Refer to the article https://kb.odin.com/en/4642 to find out how to restart POA Agent if it is down.
