Problem Statement

A provider or reseller wants to create an Online Store in PBA-E.

Resolution

The online store creation process consists of several steps, which are described below.

  1. Add a domain for the online store.

    Providers and resellers may add the domain in the POA Control Panel at Top > Operations Director > DNS Manager > Domains

    • Click the button: Add Existing Domain Registered Elsewhere.
    • Provide the domain name.
    • Choose the DNS hosting resource for the new domain name.

    The domain may also be added in the hosting CP settngs of the provider/reseller control panel.

    • Click the button: Hosting CP, in the top-right corner of POA PCP/RCP (Provider Control Panel/Reseller Control Panel).
    • Switch to the tab: All Domains.
    • Click the button: Add New Domain.
    • Enter the domain name.
    • Choose the DNS hosting resource for the new domain name.

    The Reseller may also register the new domain name, or transfer an existing domain in PBA-E (Reseller Control Panel).

    • Go to Top > Billing Manager > Domain Management > Register New Domain, or to Top > Billing Manager > Domain Management > Transfer Existing (depending on type of operation).
    • Enter the domain name to be registered/transferred and click Next.
    • On the next screen, select the domain from the list and click Next.
    • On the next screen, select a subscription period and click Next.
    • On the next screen, select a parent subscription (if needed), or choose the Default NS subscription option, and click Next.
    • Place your order on the next screen.
    • Enter payment information for your customized order.

    As a result, your domain subscription will be created.

  2. Provide web hosting for the added domain

    -Click the button: Hosting CP, in the top-right corner of POA PCP/RCP (Provider Control Panel/Reseller Control Panel). -Switch to the tab: All Domains. -Click on the domain you are going to use for the Online Store. -Click the link: Add Hosting, in the Web Hosting section. -Choose your preferred type of web hosting - Website (Apache) or Website (Microsoft IIS) - and click Next. -Select the existing webspace if applicable, or create a new webspace. -Enter the location, (Usually the location is set to the name of the domain to be added. All website files will be put into this folder in webspace.) and click Next. -Click Finish.

  3. Find FTP access details for the webspace where the website for the online store was created.

    • Select the subscription you used to create the active website in POA Hosting CP (use tab Select Subscription to do this).
    • Go to Hosting > Configuration & Administration > Webspace > FTP Access
    • Remember or write down the following parameters:

      • IP address
      • DocumentRoot and SSL DocumentRoot
      • FTP Login Name
      • FTP password
  4. Create the online store in PBA-E.

    • Log into PBA-E Control Panel (either the provider or reseller one).
    • Go to Top > Product Director > Online Store Manager > Stores
    • Click the Add New Store button.
    • Provide the online store name and description.
    • Click Save.
  5. Activate the online store and select it for editing.

    • Go to Top > Product Director > Online Store Manager > Stores
    • Click on the online store you have just created.
    • Click the Activate button.
    • Click the Select for editing button.
  6. Fill in the online store synchronization settings.

    • Go to Top > Product Director > Online Store Manager > Synchronization Settings
    • Click the Edit button.
    • Fill in the Protocol, Provider Store Host and Port fields (all values you may get from the default Provider's Online Store created during PBA-E deployment).
  7. Install the proxy Store

    • Go to Top > Product Director > Online Store Manager > Synchronization Settings
    • Click the Install Proxy Store button.
    • Fill in the FTP Address with the value of the parameter IP Address you obtained during step 3.
    • Fill in the Path Inside FTP with the value of the parameter DocumentRoot (HTTP) or SSL DocumentRoot (HTTPS) you obtained during step 3. Add the location of the online store website, which you entered when you created it the site during step 2. As a result, the value of this parameter will look like the following example: webspace/httpsdocs/onlinestore.com
    • Fill in the Username and Password with corresponding values from step 3.
    • Click the Install Proxy Store button.
  8. Synchronize the online store.

    • Go to Top > Product Director > Online Store Manager > Synchronization Settings
    • Click the Synchronize button.
