Symptoms

Login to OCS Web Access by users created through POA does not work. The error message "Cannot sign in. The password or sign-in address may be incorrect. Make sure that your sign-in address matches your user account and try again" is displayed. The OCS client works with the same credentials.

Resolution

  •  Add the service account that is used for Communicator Web Access (CWAService, by default) to the Windows-based Hosting Service Accounts group.
    1. Log in to any domain controller
    2. Start the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in (Start > Run > Open > "dsa.msc")
    3. In the right pane, click "Users"
    4. In the left pane, double-click on the CWAService user
    5. Click the "Member of" tab
    6. Click "Add"; type "Windows-based Hosting Service Accounts"; click "Check names"; click "OK"; click "OK"
  • Replicate the changes over the domain, on the domain controller:
    1. Start the "cmd.exe" shell (Start->Run->cmd.exe)
    2. Run repadmin/syncall
    3. Make sure it is successfully completed
  • Reboot the OCS Web Access node
