Symptoms


A customer cannot configure Outlook using POA auto-generated script. The customer's actions are as follows:

  • Log into POA customer CP and drill down to the Exchange mailbox
  • Click 'View Setup Info' by the Outlook option
  • Click the 'Download Outlook Profile Configuration Script' link and save the .vbs file
  • Make sure Outlook is closed
  • Double click saved .vbs file in Windows Explorer
The following error message is shown:
'Unable to locate Microsoft Outlook installation path'.
The Windows registry key 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\CLSID\{0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\LocalServer32' defined in the downloaded .vbs file exists and point to the correct location like 'C:\\PROGRA~2\\MICROS~2\\Office12\\OUTLOOK.EXE'

OS: Windows 7 RTM, Outlook 2007 SP3 (12.0.6514.5000), Microsoft Office 2007, all updates are applied.

Cause


Most likely Windows 7 blocks access of the script to system environment.

Resolution


Try the following solution:
  • Right-click on the saved .vbs file and choose 'Properties'
  • Click 'Unblock'
  • Run .vbs file
