A temporary solution which lets generate certificate signing requests for 2048-bit certificates in Parallels H-Sphere.

Problem

Parallels H-Sphere cannot generate certificate signing requests for 2048-bit certificates.

Cause

The length of the key for certificate signing request is hard-coded.

Resolution

1.    Log in as root to your H-Sphere CP box.
2.    Execute the following command: sed -i 's/1024/2048/' /hsphere/shared/scripts/generate-certificates
3.    Verify that the newly generated CSRs are 2048-bit.

Note: to generate 1024-bit CSRs again, execute the following command: sed -i 's/2048/1024/' /hsphere/shared/scripts/generate-certificates

Additional information

The issue will be addressed in one of the upcoming product updates.
