Symptoms

Logging in Via SFTP or SSH fails

Resolution

The reason for this issue is a bug in SD version 3.5.

Machine's sshd is executed instead of SD's.

In order to resolve this problem (From telnet or through a remote service such as telnet, rsh, etc) you should stop the "current" sshd: "/etc/rc.d/init.d/sshd stop" and execute: "/etc/rc.d/rc3.d/S80openssh start".

You should do the above from the console (or through other remote service such as telnet, rsh, etc`) as stopping ssh kills all active sessions.

In order to have this fix valid after next reboot, the following entries: "/etc/rc.d/rcX.d/S55sshd" "/etc/rc.d/rcX.d/K25sshd" should be removed

(or renamed in a way that ensures that entries: "/etc/rc.d/rcX.d/S80openssh" and "/etc/rc.d/rcX.d/K10openssh" are executed first).

SD's sshd is configured to prevent "root" access.

In order to resolve this issue you can:

A) Use another "regular" user (that has remote access capabilities) as an entry point (access and "su")

Or

B) Change sshd_config property to "yes" in the sshd conf file ("${SPHERA_BASE}/PSP/OpenSSH/etc/sshd_config").

**The problem was fixed in version 3.7 of the ServerDirector.
