Resolution

1. Change the apop_enabled property value to "true" (in the account_template section of the hostdir.xml file).
The change will activate the APOP feature for newly created VDSs.

2. Disable the APOP functionality for primary VDS via the following API command:

<API> <CMD cmd="set" keys_path="sphera\accounts\[primary VDS name]"
apop_enabled="false"/> </API>

3. In order to enable the APOP functionality for already existing VDSs, send the following API commands:

<API> <CMD cmd="set" keys_path="sphera\accounts\[existing VDS name]" apop_enabled="false"/> </API>
<API> <CMD cmd="set" keys_path="sphera\accounts\[existing VDS name]" apop_enabled="true"/> </API>

The API command sequence will initiate the APOP user database. Once these API commands are finished, you will have to change the VDS owner password (This is done in order to record the VDS owner plain text password in the APOP database). After this procedure, all new VDS mail accounts will be APOP-enabled.

4. In order to activate the APOP feature for existing VDS mail accounts you have to change their password in order to record the VDS mail account plain text password in the APOP database.
