Resolution

Problem

When I try and add a domain into Helm it fails, and the following errors appear in the logs:

2005-06-28 06:42:11 Website.IWeb_AddWebsite Unknown error while creating site: Invalid procedure call or argument
2005-06-28 06:42:11 CWebsite.AddWebsiteEx Unknown error while creating site: Invalid procedure call or argument
2005-06-28 06:42:11 CDomain.AddDomainEx Unknown error while creating site: Invalid procedure call or argument

You may also find that the site is stopped in IIS, and trying to start it causes an error "The parameter is invalid".

Solution

This is likely to be related to the IP of the web service you have set up in Helm.

1.) Go to:

Home > System Settings > Servers > Your Server > Web Service

2.) Have a look at the IP in the dropdown box. Is it set to 0.0.0.0 ? If so, choose an IP that actually exists on the server and click save. You may need to repeat this for other services on that server.

3.) You will also need to delete this IP from Helm, so go to:

Home > System Settings > IP Address Manager

4.) Find the 0.0.0.0 IP and delete it.

5.) If the above steps don't solve your issue, contact your support provider.
