Problem
 
When adding a domain in Helm, it fails and the following errors are found in the error logs:

Solution
 
This usually means that there is a problem setting permissions on newly-created folders, in this case, it will be folders in the Domains folder. Check the Sharing rights of the root drives, and make sure that the default shares are enabled (so on the C drive, make sure the C$ default share is enabled; on the D drive, enable the D$ default share, etc).
 
To enable shares in the above manner, right-click the relevant drive in My Computer and choose Properties, then the Sharing tab. Make sure all the folowing are correct:
 
- The "Share this folder" option should be enabled, 
- The "Share name" should be "C$" (or the relevant drive letter)
- The comment should be "Default Share"
- The User Limit should be  "Maximum allowed".
 
If this isn't the case, click "New Share", and create one with the settings outlined above.
