Symptoms

I am using Smartermail as my mail server. When adding a POP3 account to Helm I get this error:

2004-02-04 01:52:12 Mail.IEMail_Execute Failed to add the user 'test@sampledomain.com'. The maximum number of users for the server has been reached.
2004-02-04 01:52:12 CPOP3Account.AddPOP3AccountEx Failed to add the user 'test@sampledomain.com'. The maximum number of users for the server has been reached.

And when adding a domain, I get this error:

2004-02-04 01:59:26 Mail.CreateEmailAccount Failed to create 'testdomain.com'. The maximum number of domains allowed has been reached.
2004-02-04 01:59:26 Mail.IEMail_Execute Failed to create 'testdomain.com'. The maximum number of domains allowed has been reached.
2004-02-04 01:59:26 CEmail.CreateEmailAccount Failed to create 'testdomain.com'. The maximum number of domains allowed has been reached.
2004-02-04 01:59:29 modNTFS::RevokeFolderSecurity SetACL failed for User Account: testdomain.com ()
2004-02-04 01:59:30 CDomain.AddDomainEx

Resolution

Go to the Smartermail web login. Have you enabled your licence? You will most likely need to enter your licence key. Once done, it will enable Smartermail and allow you to add domains/POP3 accounts through Helm. Helm is failing because Smartermail is inactive.
