How to disable pre-defined PHP modules?

Modules that are installed with PHP packages are enabled by default. To disable (or enable) a module:

  1. Go to the directory where respective .ini file for a module is located:

    # cd /hsphere/local/config/httpd/<phpversion>/php.d/

    , where is a placeholder for php4 or php5.

  2. Open the <module_name>.ini file for edit.

  3. Comment out (uncomment for enabling) the line where the necessary module is defined with ';' (semicolon) character.
  4. Restart Apache on the Web server to apply changes:

    # /etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd stop
    # sleep 10
    # /etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd start
