Installation instructions

Installing the patch on server

Complete the following steps on server:

  1. Login to the server as administrator.
  2. Open a command window and run the command iisreset /stop
  3. Stop the EnsimProvision Engine COM+ component. Open Start > Program > Administrative Tools > Component Services
    Navigate to : Computers > My Computer > COM+ Application > EnsimProvisionEngine. Right Click > Shut Down
  4. Open a command window and move the
    <WINDOWS>
    *\assembly\GAC\EnsimLib\2.1.0.0__a0478cffa08d992f\EnsimLib.dll file to  c:\wwp_hotfix4\backup

directory. Important: Ensure that you close the command window before starting the next step.

  1. Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Configuration > Assembly Cache, then click the Add an Assembly to the Assembly Cache link.
  2. Navigate to the location from where you are reading this file, select EnsimLib.dll in the dialog box, then click Open.
  3. Close the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Configuration window.
  4. Start the EnsimProvision Engine COM+ component. Open Start > Program > Administrative Tools > Component Services
    Navigate to : Computers > My Computer > COM+ Application > EnsimProvisionEngine. Right Click > Start
  5. Open a command window and run the command iisreset /start

* Note: <WINDOWS> is the directory where Windows is installed. The default directory is c :\windows.

Rollback instructions

Rollback of the patch on server
  1. Login to the server as administrator.
  2. Open a command window and run the command iisreset /stop
  3. Stop the EnsimProvision Engine COM+ component. Open Start > Program > Administrative Tools > Component Services
    Navigate to : Computers > My Computer > COM+ Application > EnsimProvision Engine. Right Click > Shut Down
  4. Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Configuration > Assembly Cache, then click the Add an Assembly to the Assembly Cache link.
  5. Navigate to c:\wwp_hotfix4\backup, select EnsimLib.dll in the dialog box, then click Open

Testing Scope

How to Test 

  1. After installing Microsoft Windows .net framework 1.1 SP1 on Ensim Pro server, restarting server through Control Panel throws an exception. Apply patch and click on Ensim Pro Control Panel link to restart server, it will reboot system.
