What records are added to the DNS server when I add a new domain?

Summary
What records are added to the DNS server when I add a new domain?

Prevention

Details
Solution:

The following records are created when a new domain is created:

  • Primary NS Record – this is the WEBppliance DNS Server
  • Secondary NS Record – this is the virtual DNS or an external server.  (WEBppliance doesn’t create this by default, but one can use DNS manager to do this.)
  • Domain A Record – record for domain.com
  • WWW A Record – record for www.domain.com
  • FTP A Record – ftp.domain.com

MX Record forwards mail to mail server.
