The problem is that the terminal emulation of your telnet/ssh session does not support color (ie. VT100). If you are using SecureCRT, after you have logged into your server click on Options/Session Options/Emulation and in "Terminal:" select Linux. The ANSI color box should become checked automatically. If you just check the ANSI color box and leave the emulation to vt100 this doesn't seem to fix the problem. Now you can either logout and login again to set your terminal emulation by doing:

export TERM=linux

Now you should be able to run LWPInstaller.sh and you should see the graphical text window. If you are using another terminal emulation software you should try to set it to an emulation that supports color. If you are using PuTTY, xterm works as well which is the default.
