There are certain conditions when imapmax.exe can consume 100% CPU rendering the system to unusable state. (This is only applicable to mailmax users)

Details

Ensim no longer supports MailMax.  Please contact SmartMax for MailMax support.

Smartmax has released a patch to fix this issue.

Note : This patch can ONLY be applied to Mailmax SE 4.8 running on Windows 2000.

In order to apply this patch, you need to do the following:

1. Open up command prompt

2. Run "net stop imapmax"

3. Wait for couple of minutes

4. Make sure that imapmax.exe is no more shown in Task Manager

5. Go to c:\program files\mailmaxse" directory

6. Rename imapmax.exe to some other name say imapmax.exe.old

7. Copy imapmax.exe in the patch in c:\program files\mailmaxse directory

8. Run "net start imapmax" command
