Title
check_hostname failure when installing WEBppliance Pro 3.5.1

Summary
check_hostname failure when installing WEBppliance Pro 3.5.1

Prevention

Details
Solution:

The webppliance-prolog RPM pre-install scripts failed (due to an invalid /etc/hosts), which caused certain files to not be upgraded. To verify that other upgrades will be successful before starting, please run

/etc/appliance/scriptsLib-3.0/preinstall.sh

and then make sure there is a

"WEBppliance preinstall check finished successfully"

message at the end of the /var/log/appliance/setup.log. You may ignore the "This is not a RedHat 7.1 machine" message in the logs. Make sure "hostname -i" returns the IP address of your server and not 127.0.0.1 or unknown hostname.

If others find that this error is occuring for them, here are the steps that should be followed:

1. Using 'rpm -q webppliance-prolog', verify that webppliance-prolog is still at version 3.5.0-48
2. rpm -Uvh webppliance-prolog-3.5.1-5.i386.rpm
3. /usr/local/sbin/set_post_maintenance
4. /etc/rc.d/init.d/webppliance restart
