Resolution

This article assumes that OBAS is installed inside Virtuozzo Containers Container OBAS_CT_ID, NEW.IP.ADDR.ESS is new IP Address you want to assign to OBAS node.

For versions released prior to OBAS 4.2

You may use the following steps to change IP address(es) assigned to a OBAS server.

  • Assign new IP address(es) to the OBAS container using the following command on the Management node where the OBAS server is running:

    ~# vzctl set OBAS_CT_ID --save --ipadd NEW.IP.ADDR.ESS

  • Assign new IP address(es) to the OBAS container for every Reseller which has hiding configured on a dedicated IP address.
  • Update the DNS records for the host names used to access OBAS Control Panels and the Online Store to point to the new IP addresses.

As soon as DNS changes are propagated over the network, do the following:

  • Set up the new IP address of the OBAS server in the parameter SERVER_IP, in the configuration file /etc/hspc/hspc.conf
  • Replace the old IP address with the new one in the following configuration files:

    /etc/resolv.conf
    /etc/hspcd/conf* and /etc/httpd/conf*
    /etc/powerdns/pdns.conf
    /etc/powerdns/recursor.conf

  • Restart the OBAS container.

For OBAS 4.2 or a later version

You may use the following steps to change the IP address(es) assigned to a Odin Business Automation Standard (OBAS) server.

  • Stop all services on OBAS:

    ~# /usr/sbin/hspc-upgrade-manager --force common/pre/stop_services.sh

  • Run script:

    ~# hspc-add-plesk-skeys --ipadd NEW.IP.ADDR.ESS

Note: The script invokes the generation of a security key for Plesk Panel (PP) nodes for the specified IP address. It works only for the nodes that are available. Not-available nodes should be reconnected manually after the IP address change.

    To reconnect the node:

    1. Go to Service Director > Plesk Manager > Nodes, and select the node.
    2. Open the "General Settings" tab and click the "Edit" button.
    3. Enter the PP administrator password and click the "Save" button.
  • Assign new IP address(es) to the OBAS container using the following command on the Management Node where the OBAS server is running:

    ~# vzctl set OBAS_CT_ID --save --ipadd NEW.IP.ADDR.ESS

  • Assign new IP address(es) to the OBAS container for every Reseller that has hiding configured on a dedicated IP address.

  • Update DNS records for the hostnames used to access OBAS Control Panels and Online Store to point to the new IP addresses.

As soon as the DNS changes are propagated over the network, do the following:

  • Set up a new IP address for the OBAS server in the parameter SERVER_IP, in the configuration file /etc/hspc/hspc.conf.
  • Replace the old IP address with the new one in the following configuration files:

    /etc/resolv.conf
    /etc/hspcd/conf* and /etc/httpd/conf*
    /etc/powerdns/pdns.conf
    /etc/powerdns/recursor.conf

  • Remove the old IP address:

    ~# vzctl set OBAS_CT_ID --save --ipdel OLD.IP.ADDR.ESS

  • Start all services:

    ~# /usr/sbin/hspc-upgrade-manager --force common/post/start_services.sh

  • Restart the OBAS container.
