Resolution

Hosting Plan configuration

Verify that the option Allow upgrade to this plan from Control Panels is enabled in the settings of the target Hosting Plan here:

Top > Billing Director > Product Manager > Hosting Plans > <TARGET HOSTING PLAN NAME> > General Settings

Verify the Upgrade Rule of the source Hosting Plan:

Top > Billing Director > Product Manager > Hosting Plans > <SOURCE HOSTING PLAN NAME> > Upgrade Rule

Upgrade Manager configuration

Please check Upgrade Manager configuration on this screen:

Top > Commerce Director > Upgrade Manager > Configuration

Verify that it has the corresponding Hosting Plan type. The following options are important:

  • Do not allow the customer to change their Hosting Plan if some of the applications from the old plan are not present in the new plan

If this option is enabled, Hosting Plans that do not have all of the applications enabled for the current Hosting Plan will be excluded from the list of Hosting Plans available for upgrade.

  • Allow resource usage downgrade

If this option is disabled, Hosting Plans that have fewer resources than the current Hosting Plan will be excluded from the list of Hosting Plans available for upgrade.

  • When changing hosting plan customer can select a new subscription period shorter than the remaining old hosting plan subscription period

If this option is disabled, Hosting Plans whose maximal billing period is shorter than the remaining old Hosting Plan subscription period will be excluded from the list of Hosting Plans available for upgrade; for example, if the remaining old Hosting Plan subscription period is greater than 1 month, all Hosting Plans with a 1-month maximal billing period will be excluded from the list of Hosting Plans available for upgrade.

Resources

Please pay special attention to the number of IP-addresses assigned to the subscription. The target Hosting Plan should allow at least the same number of IP addresses as are currently assigned to the subscription; otherwise, it is required to release some IP addresses from the subscription before upgrading.

Additional checks for specific Hosting Plan types

VE Hosting Plan
  • The target Hosting Plan and current Hosting Plan should have the same settings for Root Access, SLM mode, and Platform options, and should be based on the same OS template onscreen:

Top > Billing Director > Product Manager > Hosting Plans > Hosting Plan Name > Container properties

  • If the subscription has SiteBuilder services enabled, the target Hosting Plan should also have SiteBuilder services enabled onscreen:

Top > Billing Director > Product Manager > Hosting Plans > Hosting Plan Name > Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder

Plesk Domain Hosting Plan
  • The target Hosting Plan and current Hosting Plan should have the same setting for the Physical hosting type onscreen:

Top > Billing Director > Product Manager > Hosting Plans > Hosting Plan Name > Plesk platform setup

  • If the subscription has SiteBuilder services enabled, the target Hosting Plan should also have SiteBuilder services enabled onscreen:

Top > Billing Director > Product Manager > Hosting Plans > Hosting Plan Name > Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder

Virtual Machine Hosting Plan

Verify that the Virtual Machine template is enabled in the target Hosting Plan:

Top > Billing Director > Product Manager > Hosting Plans > <VM HOSTING PLAN NAME> > Template Name

Troubleshooting

If none of the above steps helped, try the following:

  • Set the log level to debug on the Top > Configuration Director > Logging and Errors > Log Settings screen and check all check-boxes on this screen.
  • Execute the following command inside the HSPcomplete VE:

    ~# tail -f /var/log/hspc/hspc.log|grep "Upgrade"

  • Click the "Change Plan" button in the Customer's Control Panel on the "Upgrade Center" tab.
  • Check the filtered output collected by the tail utility; it should print detailed information on why there are not any Hosting Plans available for the upgrade.
