Symptoms

On Odin Service Automation 7.0, during Exchange deployment, it is needed to add several Exchange protocols packages to each CAS server (Protocols/IMAP/POP3/SMTP). For the sake of convenience, the domain prefix for these services is commonly set the same.

In case a brand is already created in the system before Exchange deployment, the following error will be faced during package installation in Task Manager > Events:

org.hibernate.exception.GenericJDBCException: Could not open connection

At the same time in /var/log/pa/core.log:

Prefix 'mail' is already registered for access point 'XX.XX.XX.XX'.

Cause

The issue is recognized as POA-106150: New branding manager implementation does not allow creation more than one access point with the same prefix and IP address

Resolution

In order to work around the issue:

  1. Go to System > Settings > Branding > Brands > your brand > Service Branding > Exchange Branding
  2. Pick the service that was just installed.
  3. Press 'Edit' and set 'Branding State' to 'Branding Off'

The steps above should be repeated after each package installation and for each reseller with Exchange hosting plans.

After all packages are installed, it will be possible to enable Exchange Branding back on.
