How to reinstall OA agent on Windows node?

Answer

  1. Uninstall the OA agent from Windows node;

  2. Download the installation file using one of the links below.

    OA version 5.5 and higher:

    http://Management_Node_IP/tarballs/Win32Bin/PAgent.exe

    OA version older than 5.5:

    http://Management_Node_IP/tarballs/Win32Bin/install_win_sn.exe

  3. Log on to the Windows node as Administrator.

  4. Change directory to POA distribution folder.

  5. Run the POA Agent installer:

    install_win_sn.exe /V"/l*v c:\poa-agent-installation.log"

The POA Agent Installation Wizard starts.

  6. On the Welcome Wizard page, click Next to continue.

  7. On the License Agreement Wizard page, select the I accept the terms in the license agreement option. Click Next to continue.

  8. On the Provisioning platform selection Wizard page:

    • Select the Microsoft Provisioning Server configuration option to use the Microsoft Hosted Messaging and Collaboration (HMC) provisioning platform to perform the provisioning tasks on this host.
    • Select the Windows Provisioning Engine configuration option to use the Parallels Windows Provisioning Engine (WPE) provisioning platform to perform the provisioning tasks on this host.

    Click Next to continue.

  9. On the Host type selection Wizard page select the type of host:

    • Select the Regular host option to install POA Agent on the Hardware Node or VPS created by hand.
    • Select the Virtuozzo for Windows option to install POA Agent on the Windows Shared VPS.

    Click Next to continue.

  10. On the Clustering Configuration Type Wizard page, the non-cluster configuration is detected automatically. Click Next to continue.

  11. On the Destination Folder Wizard page, specify the path to the destination folder. Click Next to continue.

  12. On the Log files settings Wizard page:

Note: This Wizard page is omitted if the Virtuozzo for Windows option is selected on step 6.

  17. On the User credentials Wizard page, enter passwords for the pem_admin and pem_domain users. Click Next to continue. The installer sends an MPF request to test the MPF connectivity. This can take a minute at most. Note: pem_admin and pem_domain password should contain only numbers and Latin letters.
  18. If the test succeeds, you are prompted to proceed with the installation.

Otherwise, an additional dialog box opens where you should specify the exact name of the MPS Engine computer. After that, the test is repeated.

The installation cannot continue until the MPF connectivity test is passed. If the MPF connectivity test fails, the MPF security needs to be properly configured.

  19. Click Finish to complete the POA Agent Installation Wizard.
