Symptoms

Task "Install skin package" for APS skin installation into a brand is failing with the following error:

Instance of application / service can not be provided: suitable web site for application instance not found.

Cause

This case has been submitted to the OA maintenance team as internal issue with id APS-22460: "Install skin package" task should be restartable".

What happens is the initial task to install the skin fails, but the skin APS package is installed by the tasks that were scheduled by the initial task. Then the initial task cannot be completed and it is not possible to change/remove such skin, because it was not properly installed in the first place.

Resolution

APS-22460 has been fixed in OA 6.0 update 7.

Please use one of the below solutions in order to workaround the issue:

  1. Find which APS-skin was installed previously into the brand. To do it find all APS skins searching by name skin at Services > Applications. For each application check its instances and find the instance installed into the affected brand.

  2. Go to the brand properties and change the skin to the one that you found on the previous step. Corresponding "Install skin package" task will fail with the same error: Instance of application / service can not be provided: suitable web site for application instance not found.

  3. In the brand properties change the skin to the desired one. Previous skin will be deinstalled.

  4. Cancel the tasks that failed on step 3.

or

  1. Remove the brand at System > Settings > Brands.

  2. Change the hosting of the related domain.

  3. Create a new brand on this domain.

  4. Install the skin again.
