Symptoms

When trying to view log files of IIS based domain the following error is displayed:

ERROR: PleskFatalException

Unable to open log file: gzopen failed: date_default_timezone_get(): It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'UTC' for 'UTC/0.0/no DST' instead

There are following errors can be found in /usr/local/psa/admin/logs/panel.log:

[23-Jun-2016 13:39:35 UTC] Exception: PHP Warning: gzopen(ftp://...@192.0.2.2/logs/W3SVC9/u_ex160604.log): failed to open stream: FTP server reports 550 The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

Cause

PA cannot open the file as IIS locks the log to write in it.

The corresponding software issue #PPA-3352 was submitted. The fix is planned to be included in one of the future product updates.

Workaround

View the log file through the file manager.
