Symptoms

In Customer Panel under System > Mail Server Server Status is Stopped.

After Start button is pressed, nothing changes.

Cause

By default, Plesk uses Qmail as a mail server. At the same time, an outdated System Administrator Control Panel application checks for the sendmail server and produces the Stopped status if sendmail is not found.

As a result, if System Administrator Control Panel is enabled for the subscription in question, under System > Mail Server Server Status is Stopped.

Resolution

There are two solutions.

  1. Install the sendmail package on the Plesk node:

    #yum install sendmail
    
  2. Remove System Administrator Control Panel application from subscription:

    Go Top > Billing Director > Product Manager > Hosting Plans > The subscription's hosting plan, click Applications tab, scroll down and click the Edit button, disable System Administrator Control Panel application and press Save.

    Then it is required to upgrade the subscription to the latest hosting plan version: go Top > Billing Director > Product Manager > Hosting Plans > The hosting plan in question , click Subscriptions tab, press Upgrade Suscriptions icon and follow the wizard.

NOTE

SACP is obsolete and replaced with Virtuozzo Power Panel. Power Panel is shown as Parallels Power Panel in OBAS interface up to 4.5.5 release. Starting from 4.5.6 the Panel is shown as Virtuozzo Power Panel.
