Symptoms

A tax rate of three places like 14.975% cannot be set.

When under Top > Billing Director > Taxation Manager > Tax Rates > New Rate the desired value is entered, the following error emerges after the Save button is pressed

Wrong values: - "Rate" field numeric value must have no more than 2 digits.

Cause

Such behavior was classified as the software issue PBAS-30295 and was fixed in OBAS 4.5.6.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, please upgrade to 4.5.6 as described in How to upgrade OBAS system to the latest available version.

Hotfix for 4.5.5

If upgrade is not an option for you, there is a hotfix for 4.5.5 version.

Please download 64-bit hotfix or 32-bit hotfix depending on your OS. Please also download the MySQL script attached. To apply the hotfix, please run

For 64-bit OS:

# rpm -Uvh billing-4.5.5-58.swsoft.x86_64.rpm
# mysql aspc < alter_tax_rule_rate.sql
# service hspcd restart

Warning: Restart of the hspcd service will cause OBAS downtime for about 10-60 seconds.

For 32-bit OS:

# rpm -Uvh billing-4.5.5-58.swsoft.i386.rpm
# mysql aspc < alter_tax_rule_rate.sql
# service hspcd restart
