Symptoms

On attempt to perform O365 user synchronization in CCP, the message is thrown:

Completed synchronization.
Updated 1 user(s):
- user@some_domain.com
Failed to update 1 user(s):
- admin@some_domain.com ('login' and 'password' properties must not be modified)

Cause

Login or password discrepancy between MOP and OA. Passwords are not synchronized from the Microsoft Online Services Portal to Service Automation. User logins (and passwords) should not be changed in the Microsoft Online Services Portal. These changes cannot be synchronized.

Please, refer to the corresponding section of the guide: Synchronizing Office 365 Organization with Microsoft Online Services Portal

Resolution

Check login (including the subdomain part) and password of the mentioned user on the OA and MOP sides - they should be equal.
