Question

Is it possible to upgrade IIS node running Windows Server 2008 R2 to Windows Server 2012 R2?

Answer

Plesk Automation does not support in-place upgrade of operation system on Windows-based Service Nodes.

As a workaround you can do the following:

  1. Deploy new Service node with Windows 2012R2 Operation System and register it in PA according to PA Deployment Guide.

  2. Transfer hosting data from Windows 2008R2-based server to newly deployed Service Node according to PA Operations Guide.

  3. Remove source server from PA infrastructure.
