Office 365 script to upgrade from 5.9 to 6.0 fails:

The user that upgrade script is using to access the database node specified in parameters of script does not have sysadmin role, as required in upgrade procedure


  1. Access the host with the database,
  2. Open MS SQL management studio,
  3. Connect to localhost,
  4. Expand Security > Logins
  5. Double-click the user (likely having 'o365' in name)
  6. Go to Server roles,
  7. Add 'sysadmin' role.
  8. Re-run the script.
