On attempt to start httpd service it fails with the error:

Starting httpd: httpd: bad user name sub1111_11


After system user name change on two subscriptions on one apache node simultaneously, apache config corrupted.

The behavior was considered as internal software issue #PPA-3192.

The fix is considered to be included in one of the next PA updates.

  1. Go to the management node and make sure that the correct user is specified in psa database for the website:

    # plesk db
    mysql> select login,home from sys_users where home like '';
    | login   | home                                                |
    | user    | /var/www/vhosts/                         |
    | user2   | /var/www/vhosts/ |
    2 rows in set (0.00 sec)
  2. Go to the affected Apache node and replace the wrong user with the proper one:

    # sed 's/sub1111_11/user/g' /etc/httpd/conf/plesk.conf.d/vhosts/ > /etc/httpd/conf/plesk.conf.d/vhosts/
  3. Go to the management node and run:

    # /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/httpdmng --reconfigure-server -service-node

where is IP address of the Apache service node.
