How to set max_allowed_packet size for MySQL?

Resolution

Follow the steps below to achieve the goal:

MySQL server for Linux:

  1. Login to Linux Service node by SSH and set the max_allowed_packet value in /etc/my.cnf file:

    vi /etc/my.cnf
    ---
    ....
    [mysqld]
    max_allowed_packet=16M
    ....
    ---

  2. Restart MySQL service:

    # /etc/init.d/mysqld restart
    Stopping mysqld:                                           [  OK  ]
    Starting mysqld:                                           [  OK  ]

MySQL server for Windows:

Login to Windows Server via RDP and correct the same value in my.ini configuration file (location depends on MySQL server installation path), restart MySQL service after that.
