Symptoms

Customer performed backup with enabled mail notification, but mail notification was not delivered to his mail contact and he receives reply like this:

Cause

Send notifications daemon pmmcli_daemon sets From header to the same mail as in To header, i.e. sender and recipient are the same.

Remote mail node requires sender authentification, otherwise it rejects the message.

The issue is considered to be a software issues PPA-1292 and PPA-2517.

Resolution

The fix was uncluded in Plesk Automation MU#14. Instructions on installing PA updates can be found here.
