Question

Is there any way to change default backup path on the backup node?

Answer

The backups are uploaded to the backup node using FTP protocol. All the backups are uploaded to the backup service node on behalf of the FTP account created during backup node initial configuration. Thus, the home directory of this FTP account is used as the backup path (/var/ppa_backups by default).

In order to change the backup path run the following command on the backup node:

# usermod -d /var/ppa_backups_new_dir -m ppa_ftp

where ppa_ftp is a name of the FTP user account created during backup node initial configuration and /var/ppa_backups_new_dir is a new path for backups. The option -m moves the old content from the previous directory to the new location.
