Symptoms

Container #10000 recreation task fails with the following error in the Action log:

Error-TEXT: 03:15] [ERROR] [27091] [HSPC::VZAgent::_report_problem] Error invoking external utility: vzctl umount 10000 failed: Container is not mounted

Cause

The issue is caused by the fact that vzagent got incorrect container status/state from the Virtuozzo node. Some block devices remained mounted to /vz/root/10000 (according to /proc/mounts) and that is why the agent returned mounted state.

Resolution

  1. Check active mounts to the Container's root mount point:

    # grep /10000 /proc/mounts

    /dev/ploop35027p1 /vz/root/10000
     ext4 ro,relatime,barrier=1,data=ordered,balloon_ino=12,pfcache_csum,pfcache=/vz/pfcache,jqfmt=vfsv0,usrjquota=aquota.user,grpjquota=aquota.group 0 0
    /dev/ploop50700p1 /vz/root/10000 ext4 ro,relatime,barrier=1,data=ordered,balloon_ino=12,pfcache_csum,pfcache=/vz/pfcache,jqfmt=vfsv0,usrjquota=aquota.user,grpjquota=aquota.group 0 0

    # cat /sys/block/ploop35027/pdelta/0/image
    /vz/del/vzctl-rm-me.X7g7Yia/root.hdd/root.hds

    # ls -al /vz/del/vzctl-rm-me.X7g7Yia/root.hdd/root.hds

    -rw------- 1 root root 972029952 Jun 10 12:51 /vz/del/vzctl-rm-me.X7g7Yia/root.hdd/root.hds

  2. Unmount them:

    # umount -n /vz/root/10789
    # umount -n /vz/root/10789 # 2nd time due to 2 active mounts
    # grep /10789 /proc/mounts
    # ploop umount -d /dev/ploop35027
    Unmounting device /dev/ploop35027
    # cat /sys/block/ploop35027/pdelta/0/image
cat: /sys/block/ploop35027/pdelta/0/image: No such file or directory
