Question

How to add additional port for SMTP(587) on the Postfix service node in Plesk Automation (PA)?

Is it possible to edit the /etc/postfix/masters.cf to uncomment the following lines:

#submission inet n - n - - smtpd

# -o smtpd_tls_security_level=encrypt
# -o smtpd_sasl_auth_enable=yes
# -o smtpd_client_restrictions=permit_sasl_authenticated,reject
# -o milter_macro_daemon_name=ORIGINATING

or will this be overwritten by plesk automation?

Answer

There's no need to apply these changes manually.

  1. Login to Hosting Provider Panel as Administrator.

  2. Go to PA Panel > Infrastructure > Service Nodes > Postfix service node > Mail Server Settings tab > enable the Enable message submission option.

In this case PA adds the following string to the /etc/postfix/master.cf configuration file:

[root@mail1 ~]# grep "submission" /etc/postfix/master.cf | grep -v "#"
submission inet n - n - - smtpd -o smtpd_enforce_tls=yes -o smtpd_tls_security_level=encrypt -o smtpd_sasl_auth_enable=yes -o smtpd_client_restrictions=permit_sasl_authenticated,reject -o smtpd_sender_restrictions= -o smtpd_recipient_restrictions=permit_mynetworks,permit_sasl_authenticated,reject_unauth_destination
