Question

How can I change FTP password on a backup service node?

Answer

  1. Log in to Backup Node via SSH and and execute:

    # passwd *user*
    

    Note: user is a login which was set during adding backup node to PPA. To check the name of the configured user go to Infrastructure -> Service Nodes -> NODE_NAME -> Packages -> PPM -> ppa_backup 1.7 (other) -> Package properties. User will be listed as below:

    FTP user login  *user* (mandatory)
    
  2. Setup a new password:

    Changing password for user *user*.
    New password:
    
  3. SSH to Management Node and run the following command:

    PSA_PASSWORD=new_password /usr/local/psa/bin/server_pref --set-backup-node-settings ftp://user@<backup_node_ip> -use-ftp-passive-mode true
