Symptoms

Cannot create new IIS subscription. The task 'Create the web hosting on the webspace #101' fails with the following error:

Unable to update hosting preferences. The unexpected HTTP code '413' was received on the HTTP request to the agent at 'https://203.0.113.2:8443/agent.cgi'.

Cause

  1. The issue was caused by software issue PPA-2104.

    The fix is included in Plesk Automation MU#10.

  2. The issue could arise after manipulations with server and IIS SSL certificates on the Windows service nodes. This issue is happening during renegotiation step, the entity should be preloaded using SSL and result is being larger than the default value which is ~49 Kb.

Resolution

  1. Launch “Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager”' on the service node where subscription will be provisioned;
  2. Select 'PleskControlPanel';
  3. In the Features section, double click “Configuration Editor”
  4. Under “Section” select: system.webServer then serverRuntime
  5. Modify the 'uploadReadAheadSize' section to 1073741824 (the value is in Bytes);
  6. Click Apply.
